Day 23 - Finally Looks Like A House!

The windows are all in, the roof is on, and the front door is in place.  It really looks like a house now!!!  Today we were able to head up to the second floor to take some pics.  The five bedrooms are awesome - so glad we did that.

Temporary Staircase.  The permanent direct set staircase will be arriving next week.

We Got A Lid

Much more progress today as the house now has a roof!  No more windows and no staircase yet, so we still haven't seen the second floor, but the progress is incredible.

2nd Floor & Some Windows, Too

I almost didn't make the drive out to the house tonight.  I had a long day at work, worked almost 2 hours later than I planned, and was too tired to make the drive.  I'm so glad I went, though, because the house looks fantastic!  Many, many pics below...

The Framing Has Begun

Considering we never had a chance to walk through a Yorkshire model and made this purchase based on a floorplan and virtual tour, today was kind of a big deal.  It was the first opportunity any of us had to get a feel for the size and layout of this home.  And it was awesome.  There was only one concern regarding the main floor powder room.  It was upgraded to a full bath; however, it appears that it was only framed for a powder room.  I made a quick call to our PM, just in case, so we'll see what he says.  Maybe we were just misinterpreting what we saw.  Either way, we're not overly concerned because we trust they will make it work.  Now, on to some pics!

Day 18 - The Framing Begins

Just a start, but the framing process has begun.  Hope nobody steals a window or the front door!!!

Lovin' These Bricks!!!

They started wrapping the bricks around the bottom of the house - looks pretty cool.  There are a couple little cosmetic concerns, but I think it's not a big deal and probably easy to correct.  Overall, it looks great!

The lumber was also delivered this week.  The PM met with the carpenter yesterday morning and the plan was to start framing either today or Monday, weather permitting.  We're thinking of taking a drive out there tonight or tomorrow to see if any progress was made.  Next week should be pretty exciting and the week thereafter.  They also broke ground on the lot next door, also a Yorkshire elevation F, I believe.  So it should look fairly different, which is nice.
